Am I a Designer?

So, I’ve been thinking for a while that it might be kind of cool to list a couple of my patterns as free downloads on Ravelry.   Not that they’re anything special, but they are mine, and I’m happy with them.  So, since I didn’t get much sleep last night (teething baby), and I’m not quite thinking straight, I figured, why not?

The first one I listed, since I already  had it in pdf form (I actually sold the pattern on ebay a few years back), is for the dragon hand puppet that I made for Jasmine way back when.

Here’s what it looks like:

And here’s the pdf with the pattern: dragonhandpuppet

It’s crocheted with scrap yarn and small bits of felt for the eyes/nose/tongue, and works up really quickly. The pdf includes patterns for the felt tongue, eyes & nose as well.

I also have a thread crochet beaded suncatcher that’s already written up – if I can just find it on the computer.

So, if this works, that will be next.  And, if I get really ambitious, I may try to write up the Christmas tree hat that I made for Jasmine a few years back.

But, with this one, I didn’t really have a plan.  I just kept knitting/adding do-dads until it looked like a Christmas tree.  That means I’ll have to go back and count stitches to try to come up with a usable pattern.  It may take until next Christmas before that one shows up.  Besides, once I get caught up on sleep, I’ll get back to normal life and forget that I wanted to to this – haha!

I’m an elementary school counselor; my background is in play therapy. I was trying to find some crochet patterns for hand puppets to make for my counseling room. This dragon will be a perfect one to try. Thanks for posting it!!

Just saw your dragon puppet on pinterest, and am printing the pattern as I type. My granddaughter is smitten with crocodiles, and I think this should be fairly easy to convert. As soon as I type this, I’m off to the store for yarn. Thank you!
